My Top 5 Xmas movies

December 4, 2014

My top 5 xmas movies I’ve been enjoying over the years are these:

Home Alone: I think this is a classic! Maybe, cause I’m a 90s child~ But this movie is very dear to my heart. When I was little my family and I would watch it before Xmas, so it kind of turned into this family tradition and it doesn’t matter how many times we would watch it, we laughed our Lungs out! ~Specially my Dad. Now I can still hear his laughter every time I watch it. It’s a comedy with a cute story, where you fall in love of the main Character ‘Kevin’, who finds himself Home Alone for Xmas, and has to protect his house from 2 not very Smart thieves. At the end of the movie you will end up with a smile on your face.

Love Actually: I have to thank my friend Silvana for telling me about this movie. I have to admit I love English films (a lot!). To start, the movie is fill with stars, like: Colin Firth ( I really have a crush on him J), Bill Nighy, Liam Neeson, Emma Thomson, Keira Knightley, Hugh Grant, Rodrigo Santoro, and some others. The movie shows the reality people face during Christmas. I’m sure there will be one you can relate to, and it’s so funny that I’m sure it will leave you with a happy feeling inside you’re little heart ~Perfect for these cold December nights. Christmas J

The Family Stone: Another Christmas movie with lots of Hollywood stars. Diane Keaton, Craig Nelson, Luke Wilson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachael MacAdams. The plot is about a normal family reunion during the holidays. Everett (Damon Mulroney) One of the sons brings his girl friend ( Sarah Jessica Parker) to meet the family and unfortunately she doesn’t quite fit. I would say it’s a Comic Chaos, which is kind of what most families are J. Totally a must see.Important to add that Sarah Jessica Parker was nominated for a Golden Globe for it, and Keaton, Nelson and MacAdams garnered a Satelitte award nomination s, and MacAdams was awarded a Teen Choice Award the next year.

The Holiday: (An English/American movie) This is a cute Romantic Christmas Story. Two girls (Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet) disappointed and heart broken, decide to swap houses and be away for Christmas. One goes to LA the other one goes to a Little town close to London. Without expecting it, they make the acquaintance of two very nice men. Jude Law, and Jack Black. This is a great Chick Flick, perfect for a cold winter night.

Polar Express: An American Motion Computer Animated movie. This is a Xmas Story from The classic Children’s Tale with the same name. Maybe this one won’t make as a big of an impact to those who didn’t grew up reading the story but it’s a nice story. I do think though, even if it’s a children story, I think it’s not suitable for Young children as it’s has some intense and frightening parts. But if you’re an adult, it’s all good. The story is about some children who are going to take a train to meet Santa Clause, The Child Hero is not so sure if he does exist. The first time I saw it back in 2006 was in a Imax 3d. Totally amazing! Sony Pictures Image Works did the visual effects.

imagesMaybe, It’s just my family and I, but we really enjoy Xmas movies in December… and you? Do you have some favorites to share? I would love to grow my list.
